Atlantic Works Gallery
80 Border Street, 3rd Floor,
East Boston, MA 02128
January 16–February 22, 2020
I’m feeling all anticipatory for this exhibition coming up with my favorite art congregates and comrades. And I can not wait to join in with you while (very, very figuratively of course) burning down the whole shoddy phallic tower that is manhood. Boys will not just be boys, boys will become however they want or need to be, but its my personal mission that we will, under all circumstances, be held accountable.
Myself and other Atlantic Works Gallery members will have a variety of works on display examining hopefully new or unrecognized angles to an otherwise banal and ubiquitous tedium. Traditional heteronormative masculinity is just so excruciatingly boring. Disagree? Please take an actual 5 minutes to just really look at any clothing retailer’s men’s section. So many innocuous shades of denim, gray, beige, and other sassy neutrals. I quiver waiting for your reportages.
We’ll be wearing white to honor the suffragettes but do bring your reading glasses too because the library will be open and free for all.
Ongoing with the opening reception Anna Salmeron and Bo Petran will be hosting an artists fundraiser for our fellow citizens in Puerto Rico who only a few days ago endured a major earthquake. All sales that happen in studio #309 will go to help these survivors. This will be happening on the far end of the hall, opposite the main gallery and reception.
So to recap:
-come to the opening and/or closing.
-do good in this world.
-stop the insanity.
Thank you so very much.
See you soon,
